Countries where well-known torrent sites are blocked in one way or another

Countries that directly seek to close or restrict sites such as Pirate Bay, KickAss torrent and YTS include Russia, China, Australia, South Africa, etc…

Countries with strict laws governing the distribution of copyrighted material include Japan, UK, Germany, France. However, there are also a large number of countries that either do not care about unauthorized sharing or downloading of copyrighted material, nor do they actually seek to restrict or close down the use of torrent and other similar sites. Such countries include Canada, Brazil, India, Iran, Egypt, Greece, Romania, Spain, Poland, etc.

In addition to ISPs and states, search engines such as Google may, to some extent, exclude links directly to these sites in their search results, so it’s good that these links are also available on other websites.

If you have trouble finding or accessing certain mirror or proxy sites, but you are certain that the link is working, your Internet service provider (ISP) may have blocked you from accessing that site.

However, accessing the site is by no means illegal, which is why such restrictions are to some extent outright censorship of the Internet. You have the full right to use just the kind of sites you want, as long as the content on the pages itself is not illegal in any way, and you do not download or redistribute copyrighted material, for example.
